Navigating The Parking Garage

It’s a space ship . . . it’s a golf cart! No, it’s a GEM, a Global Electric Motorcar manufactured by Daimler-Chrysler. This futuristic electric car was purchased for parking service staff to maneuver through the 7-floor Governmental Center garage, assisting customers without hindering the flow of traffic. The doorless, four-seater runs solely on electricity and produces no tailpipe emissions.

Energy and Building Automation Systems, working with Fleet Services Division, plans to purchase additional GEM models where they are a cost-effective alternative in meeting transportation needs.
