Broward County Monitoring Program
Conducting aerial surveys is one of the most successful ways to determine where manatees are in Broward County. Periodic helicopter flights allow for the greatest flexibility in speed and altitude to survey all tidally influenced waterways between Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.
Broward County encourages residents to watch for and report manatees to the Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department. If you spot a manatee in Broward County, email the information to manatee@broward.org or complete a Manatee Sighting Report Form (PDF 30 KB) and return it to the address on the form.
